Requirements:
• Applicants must be holders of KCE division II/KCSE mean grade C+ (plus) and above.
• They must have a Bachelors degree in Animal production/Agriculture related field from a recognized university.
In addition applicants must have the following:
• Masters degree in Business Administration
• Demonstrate strong management skills
• At least three (3) years work experience as Farm Manager of large, modern dairy farm
• Computer literate
• Knowledge of Public Procurement Procedures will be an added advantage.
Duties:
• Overall in-charge of the farm
• In charge of overall management and planning for dairy production and marketing
• Prepare farm budgets
• Plan operations and ensure achievements of set targets/parameters
• Enhance timely farm purchase of inputs such as animal feeds, veterinary drugs and semen
• Coordinate team work to facilitate production and marketing, keeping administrative records in relation to yields and quality
• Keeping accurate financial and technical records and analyzing the same to indicate profitability of the enterprise
• Responsible for maintenance of facilities and equipment and periodic evaluation
• Prepare periodic returns and analysis i.e monthly and quarterly reports and evaluations
Terms of Service:
The terms of service for the above include a generous medical scheme, house allowance and commuting allowance. Successful candidates will be offered two (2) year renewable performance - based contract and gratuity will be paid at the end of the contract.
