Job Title: Credit Manager

Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee the credit management function
• Develop and optimize sound loan portfolio management through efficient and effective credit analysis
• Develop and implement appropriate strategies for attracting and retaining prime credit that will ensure the long term sustainability of the Fund.
• Report on outstanding loan accounts to the Managing Trustee on a monthly basis.
• Responsible for preparing quarterly/annual reports on the credit portfolio performance for decision making.
• Manage relationship with our customers in order to reduce exposure to potential bad debt.
• Continuously review, implement and administer the Fund’s credit strategies, policies and procedures.
• Ensure all credit requests and approvals procedures and processes comply with the Fund’s policies and procedures.
• Train credit team to enhance their skill and knowledge in credit appraisals
• Develop and implement a robust credit appraisal system in order to minimize credit risks and ensure prudent credit decisions.
• Establish and maintain a system that fosters a culture of teamwork, employee’s empowerment and commitment to the Department and the Fund’s goals.
• In collaboration with the human resource department, develop and implement a succession planning program for the Credit department to facilitate continuity and availability of required skill and competence to meet the needs of the department.
Job Specifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a business related field.
• MBA or its postgraduate equivalent in a business related field.
• Qualification in ACCA/CPA/CFA.
• Over 8 years working experience in a financial institution, 4 of which should be at senior management level.
• Has proven experience in Credit/lending administration.
• Experience in micro finance is an added advantage.
• Working knowledge of ERP

• Able to work independently and adhere to strict deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential
• Satisfy chapter six of constitution on integrity
• Team Player.
• The successful candidate will be employed on Permanent and Pensionable terms.
