Homa Bay County (HBC) has recently launched its first County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP).
The CIPD will provide the foundation for accelerated, inclusive and sustainable development of the County in line with HBC’s vision: to become an industrialized, healthy and wealthy county.
Amongst other strategies, HBC plans to create wealth and employment opportunities through value addition of existing natural resources.
To this end, Homa Bay County is inviting expression of interests from qualified consultants to undertake feasibility studies for the establishment of the following nine value addition enterprises:
• Cassava Processing Plant
• Cereals (maize) Milling Plant
• Coffee processing Plant
• Ginnery and Textile Industries
• Milk Processing Plant
• Groundnut Processing Plant,
• Honey Processing Plant and
• Rice Processing Plant
• Water bottling plant
Applicants will need to consider the following in their expression of interests
1. The work to start in mid November and will last a maximum of 30 Calendar days.
2. The various factories will be based where the resources are available.
3. The feasibility studies will be used to guide the implementation of the projects by HBC and also for resource mobilization from potential local and international investors.
