Job Description:
Strengthening Health Outcomes through the Private Sector (SHOPS) Project is a global five-year USAID-funded project, which aims to expand the role of the private sector, including NGOs and for-profit entities in the sustainable provision and use of high-quality health information, products and services.
The activities run by the Kenya country program of the SHOPS project is centered on following three main technical component areas:
(1) Increase healthcare coverage through new, strengthened, and expanded private healthcare financing mechanisms;
(2) Increase availability and improve sustainability of private healthcare services and products through identification, support, and scale-up of private models;
(3) Strengthen the enabling environment for the private sector and ensure the availability and use of data in programmatic and policy decision-making.
To assist in program implementation, SHOPS Project in Kenya is searching for multiple consultants with expertise in one of the following areas:
• Private sector health
• Private health insurance
• Contracting
• Actuarial analysis
• Clinical standard setting
• Clinical operations management
• Financial accounting in a clinical setting
• Cost modeling and projections
• IT platform assessment and programming, including but not limited to mobile platforms
• Consumer and market research
• Communication strategy and product development, including but not limited to billboards, posters, and radio shows
• Pharmaceutical supply chain
• Level of effort depends on scope of work, but will typically be 25-50 working days spread over 2-4 months.
Consultant must have at least 10 years of experience in the relevant field with track record of successful consultancies.
USAID project experience highly desired.
